Online MMOs are a very competitive market. It isn't wise to talk much about your new ideas until you are completely ready to show all your cards. Certain games coughWoWcough, tend to take any new ideas other MMOs come up with and attempt to beat em to the punch.

concept art/screenshots =/= ideas that can be easily stolen by wow. They show basic idea where u want ur game to go, but don't show any ground breaking ideas that they would want to be hush hush. Alot of people don't want game design details, they want to know that the game is coming along.
When their first plan for a beta at the end of 08 didn't happen. I think player should get antsy about NOTHING that has been shown off.
Personally, i think it is alot of vaporware just to keep people playing gw1, and keep buying from their online store. And i'm afraid until there a sudden decrease in player population, no information will remain.

I consider a three year development period to be pretty typical for decent games. Not sure what all the doom and gloom is about, hasn't even been 2 years since announcement yet.

It's not that people are worried because of the time it will take them to develop the game, people are freaking out because there still hasn't been any video's or screenies after 2 years of development.

Diablo 3, announced in 2008, in development for the last 4 years, had dozens of screenshots and... 3? gameplay videos.
A.Net didn't give anything, even concept art, since GWEN.

Hey, in software verification, they have a saying (about safety and liveness properties): it's easy to prove something that happened, but impossible to prove something that didn't.
And I haven't met yet anyone that can predict the future. But why do people want things here and now? Because Anet's neighbour did it? As someone said, patience is a virtue, in particular online.

Too bad we believe Blizzard, that has yet to release a game that wasn't a world-wide success.
And we don't really believe A.Net, that has made so many mistakes, Guild Wars 2, or it's lack, will probably destroy it. I mean, if their game fails, they have no money to run the servers. And they will meet the fate of, oh, I don't know... Tabula Rasa. Not enough player buying the game = closing down after a year or so.

Well, you do what you want, I don't care about Activision Blizzard. (let's keep the discussion as childish as possible, shall we?)

Yet GW1 is still running despite the year+ of predicting its demise. Your words are vapor, that's a fact, not a prediction of the future.

Hey, I'm not trying to start a religion. Regina and NCsoft people saw GW2, that's enough for me, the rest is left to patience.

Yeah they are a totally an unbiased source of of information....
To me, without any prove of its existence, it doesn't exist. I'm not saying they are lieing to us with certainty, but if Reggie said she hasn't seen any game footage of GW2, how do you think that would pan out in the forums. I'd tell it cause one heck of a up roar. Her answers have always been focused on damage control. Honestly i suggest people look what happened with Hellgate, Tabala Rasa and AoC, before giving much fate to game designers and their lackeys.

You just kicked yourself in the groin.
Regina is totally unbelievable, sorry. If she said it's going to snow tomorrow, maybe I would believe, but nothing about the game.

You probably find yourself very smart for that comment. You're actually wrong (on both accounts). And if GW2 comes out, I'd like to see your e-face.
To all those looking for a "proof", you should look for a proof of the 3-color theorem (which is no vaporware at all), then you'll look differently at life...

Read your two quotes. In the first one, you say that "Regina and NCSoft saw it", yet there is no proof.
And in the other one, you say it's impossible to prove something that didn't happen.
Heh. Yeah, once you realise your mistake, take a picture of your face, I will be happy to see it.
About the proof - what proof? I see no proof of Duke Nukem Forever. Which, actually, had few screenshots (few years ago, and of a poor quality, but still), one trailer (without in-game footage, but still) and there isn't anyone that believes in DNF. Why should people believe in GW2?

I'm sure GW2 exists in some form and that is what Regina and others saw.
However, Anet's not releasing any information, concept art, screen shots, news, etc has not inspired any confidence and I have all but lost interest completely. I just got bored of waiting, left GW and now look likely to not care at all when the news starts coming. They announced GW2 far, far too early if its 2+ years before they can say or show anything about it.
Predictions? I dont think we'll get an official release of information from Anet before they announce a beta play test. The first thing we really get will be from leaks from those players. My instincts tell me they announced GW2 when it was in a fledgling state, since they scrapped a chapter to move to working on it instead. Assuming a minimum of a four year development period, we are only in year two, so we have at least a year before beta. Anet will then announce some of the ways things work within the game some weeks after beta ends. 2010-ish for our first real bits of information.

Sometime after the gravitational collapse of the universe, but before the release of Duke Nukem Forever.
